The people of ancient china had traditions that sculpted their societies. Women who lived as a noble usually bound their feet when they were little so they could have a better life. In the Tang Dynasty women had more rights. Women could own land and even divorce their husbands. Their was even an emperess named Wu Setian(624-705) and she was the only female to run alone. China also prayed to their ancestors and worshipped them. Ancestral worship was when people would make shrines and give offerings to them so their ancestors would help them out. China had an equal field system so peasants and aristocrats could own the same amount of land. In Japan women had more of an influence in their culture than in China. The Tail of Genji was written by a woman. Their land was controlled by a Shogun they gave some land to samurais and the samurais would fight for them. Samurais fought by a code of honor called Bushido. Bushido was unquestioning loyalty and obidience towards their leader.
